If years wasted watching MTV has taught me anything, it’s that I should have an irrational desire to gaze into the abodes of otherwise uninteresting celebrities. So, with a little inspiration from a similar post over at Open Culture, I decided to find out where the old dead white men of critical theory past spent their days.
Nietzsche’s Uber Summer Vacay Spot
Nietzsche lived in this Swiss house during the summers of 1881 and 1883-1888, according to infallible source Wikipedia. He rented a room on the first floor and worked on some of his raddest books including “Beyond Good and Evil”, “On the Genealogy of Morals”, “Twilight of the Idols” and “The Antichrist”.
The house has since been converted into a Nietzsche museum.
Venture inside to where the magic happens. Writing magic, that is. Nietzsche was famously inept at courting women.
