It’s Simone de Beauvoir’s birthday today, and Google has replaced their logo with a commemorative drawing.
Beauvoir was born in 1908 and passed away on April 14, 1986. She would have been 106 years-old today.
A French existential philosopher and feminist, Beauvoir was well-known for her work “The Second Sex.”
Google has also honored author notable philosophers in their Doodle series. Others include long-time compatriot of Beauvoir, Jean-Paul Sartre, Albert Camus, and Arthur Schopenhauer. Many Doodles are limited in their release to specific countries.
