Karl Marx was born in Trier, Germany, except really it was still called Prussia. Whatever history, nobody likes you.

Much like today’s revolutionary, Marx grew up with a wealthy family in a cozy, bourgeois household. And like his contemporary hipster Brooklynite counterparts, Marx moved to a brand new city to experience a life full of poverty.

His place of birth has since been converted into a museum.
